I don't think India was ever under a government madder and more incompetent than this !!

The government is thinking of banning Cola Advertisements because a few Cola Bottles had pesticides found in them. After the utterly thoughtless banning of blog hosting sites, this is next paranoid decision of the so called 'intellectual lead' government!! This decision is ridiculous !
One, presence of pesticide in Colas reflects an utter failure of the government regulatory machinery in controlling proper standards of health in the drinking water and commercially usable water. Rather than accept this - the goverment is covering itself up by creating unecessary controversy with media (clearly knowing how much of revenue media houses generate from Cola advertisements).
Two, I don't know why Mr. Ramadoss has this habit of always solving the wrong problem! Are we assuming that banning advertisement of Colas will dissuade people from purchasing it and drinking it when ample quantity of it is available at every outlet from Supermarkets to Pan shops across the country?
Three, how does banning of a few sources of information make any difference to the perpetrators of crime? (I am also referring to the blog blocking case here). By blocking a few anti-Indian blogs, you cannot stop the person from opening another blog with a different name! Even if you block all blogging sites, you still cannot stop the person from opening a new website hosted on servers in some hostile country!!
Finally, is it these websites, blogs, advertisements which are our problem? Are we fighting a war against media?? Rather than taking some concrete steps to set up better regulatory frameworks or creating better policy and execution plans to tackle terrorism - this government has engaged itself in a widespreadly useless eye-washing and window dressing program!!
PS: I realize that I have mixed two different issues here. But you would agree that essentially these issues are related - they indicate how hollow the actions and reactions of this government are!
